"Desperate Housewives" is an old TV show. It talked about four housewives became change after a neighbour, another housewife died. The show was taking about their lives. They had different characters and different lives. Their story is very realistic, like happen around us. As a result, the show gave me a deep impression. The show was very popular when it was playing. I think TV show can reflect our real lives and tendentiousness. Also, watching TV is a kind of pop culture.

Pop culture always around us, any where and any time. Downtown Chicago is an example. It is a very busy place, a lot people there. Some people go to work, some go to school and some go shopping. It is a interesting experience when you are walking in Downtown. Also, you can find a lot of popular objects and events there, such as the famous Chicago style Hot Dog. It tastes different from others. It is Chicago flavor and it is a kind of pop culture.

Cellphone is the importance of technology in my life. my first cellphone was my birthday gift from my mother, so it had a special meaning for me. I think cellphone is important not only for that reason. Now, I use my phone every day, and the phone helps me a lot. I use it talk to my family when I go somewhere. I use it communicate to my friends. I use it take pictures and go to Internet. I know, many other products can instead cellphone. However, cellphone has a superiority that convenient to carry. Therefore, I think cellphone is very important in my life.

Movies

This is a part of my movie review of "Ghost". Banker Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) and ceramic artists Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) was a pair of lovers. A pity was Sam died in a case of robbery. Molly was very painful of that, so Sam became a ghost and stayed with her. And then, Sam discovered that robbery was an intrigue by his best friend Carl Bruner (Tony Goldwyn). Sam wanted to tell Molly about the murderer, but he could not communicate with anyone. Fortunately, he encountered a psychic Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldbery) when he was despairing. Oda Mae helped him delivered his word to Molly. However, Molly doubted that. She could not believe a ghost really exist.

This is my response of a movie review of "127 hours". David Stratton is the reviewer from "At the Movies". This is a little short review. It begins with a plot summary. It is easy to understand the story, but it is not that interesting. I think the attention getter is always important in the beginning. Readers want to read more or stop to read are depending on the beginning. However, I think I should learn the reviewer how to write a key moment. He describes the key moment that seems authentic and attractive.

Music

My favorite song is "Just One Last Dance". It sings by a sweet, energetic rhythm blues singer, Sarah Connor. I like this song for many reasons. First, I like the blues style music. Specially, I like the most is soul blues. It seems can conquer your hearing and touch your soul. And then, I like the music and the meaning of this song too. First time I heard the song was when I left China to came to the U.S. I was sentimental at that time, the song just expressed my feelings. Therefore, I like this song so much.

Reading

I pick the article "Does Sex Still Sell?". The article was talking about using sex to sell music. The author thinks that sex still sells. It is a trend. Artists sell sex is only a way to sell, such as people sell their voice or mind. Selling sex is not a only one way to sell music, but it is a useful way in marketing. I think it is hard to understand way do people want to sell sex, but I agree the author, selling sex is still work. A lot people want to achieve their purposes and use whatever they can use. Some people think selling sex is a bad conduct, but I do not repel it. According to Livingston, if you can use and control it careful, selling sex can help you success.

Cultural Identity

I am a Chinese immigrate in the United States. Even though I have been here almost four years, my family and I still attach importance to Chinese culture. So I chose a lot of Chinese tradition picture on my poster. For example, the most important traditional festival of China is Chinese New Year. It is my favorite festival also. We have a lot of celebration activities in Chinese New Year. People will play the lion dance, and put red scroll on both side of a doorway. Also, the married people will give the red envelops to the people who is not marry yet. The money in red envelops means lucky. On the other hand, tea ceremony and KungFu are the special culture in China. They need many skills and experience. Tea ceremony and KungFu are from olden times, but a lot of young people are interesting on them. Also, drink tea and practice KungFu are the ways to keep healthy. Those are Chinese people familiar culture.
